Help with Aloud Cards

Start with the quick checks below. Customers with the app installed can send a private problem report from inside Aloud Cards.

The app cannot hear an answer

  1. Open Windows Settings and confirm microphone access is enabled for apps.
  2. Close other apps that may be using the microphone.
  3. In Aloud Cards, wait for the ready cue before answering.
  4. Try the practice card again in a quieter room and speak at a normal volume.

Aloud Cards processes the microphone stream on the device. It does not upload or save the recording.

First-use setup does not finish

The first practice session downloads and verifies the speech-recognition and voice models. Keep the device connected to the internet and leave Aloud Cards open until preparation completes. If it stops, check the connection and restart the app; incomplete model files are checked before they are used.

There is no prompt voice or ready sound

Does practice work offline?

Yes, after the required speech and voice models have been downloaded and verified. Sending feedback and retrieving a missing or updated model still require an internet connection.

Install and update the app

The first public Windows 11 release is being prepared for Microsoft Store. A direct install link will appear on the Aloud Cards home page when the listing is ready. Store-installed copies receive updates through Microsoft Store.

Send a private problem report

Support intake is available only inside an installed copy of Aloud Cards.

  1. Open Aloud Cards.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Under Help & feedback, choose Send feedback.
  4. Select Problem, review the privacy notice, and send the report.

The report is private and includes only the text entered plus four coarse technical values shown before sending. Do not include names, contact details, schools, addresses, or other identifying information. The receipt confirms delivery, but reports do not receive direct replies or ticket status.
